Approved Charter of the Dragon's Breath Brewer's Guild

 

I. The purpose of the Dragon's Breath Brewer's Guild is the re-creation and/or enjoyment of period beverages; period being defined by the Society of Creative Anachronism as occurring between 700 AD and 1600 AD.

II. Organization: The Guild shall be led by a Guildmaster, who will be elected by the membership once every two years. The Guildmaster may choose up to two Assistant Guildmasters, one of whom shall serve as recording secretary for the Guild.

Ill. Membership: Membership is open to anyone who is interested in the education, re-creation and enjoyment of period beverages and simple medicinal formulas. Should a sufficient number of members join the Guild from another Canton, Shire, Barony, etc., a chapter of the Dragon's Breath Brewer's Guild shall be formed and that chapter shal1 choose its own leaders. In the event of future chapters, each chapter's Guildmaster will serve on the Dragon's Breath Council. The Council shall deal with any issues that effect the Guild as a whole. The Council shall appoint a single overall Guildmaster to speak for the Guild as a whole when necessary.

IV. Members are welcome to re-create beverages from any of the five following categories: Beer, Mead, Wine, Cordials, and Other. Each member starts at rank 1 in any category they enter. To advance in rank, the member will submit a beverage to be judged by the members of that category. The members of the category will determine if the member has advanced in skill enough to be awarded the next higher rank. A member may hold different rankings in different categories.

V. Any changes to be made to this charter must be presented by a chapter at council and voted on. It shall take a 2/3 vote to pass.
