Virus Protection:

To stop the automatic spread of a virus to people in your address book, put an extra character in each address. Example: Arabbit@aol.comZ or Arabbit@Xaol.com.  This prevents a virus from taking your address book and automatically sending itself.  

When sending an email and you select that entry from your address book, you must remember to remove the extra character or the mail will not be delivered, as this would not be a valid email address.  

If you go to your email and have an error message that your mail was undeliverable, and you didn't send all of those emails, then you may have a virus in your computer.

It is a lot easier to remove the extra character each time than to have a virus removed from your computer.

You may want to share this information with anyone that has YOUR address in their book.  It could keep you from getting a virus.

SPAM (Junk) E-mail Protection

Just a bit of information in case you would like to know:

When you send email to everyone in your address book or to a list of people all at the same time, and any of those people forward it, and someone else forwards it.... You are creating a growing list of valid email addresses for anyone to start sending SPAM email.  SPAM mail is another name for Junk Mail on a computer.

It is much safer when sending email to send it one at a time OR send the email to yourself, and put BLIND Courtesy Copy (BCC) to everyone else. A Blind CC will go to each of the designated receivers without sending the entire list of email addresses for anyone to copy.
